Last week started the season for strawberry picking on the island. Moors End Farm strawberries were ready first so we headed out there in the evening to pick a few quarts with friends. It was a beautiful day and the stroll down to the strawberry field was charming in the evening light. The staff their are very kind and give each child a basket to fill up. Iley was very enthused about this. Our friends, Alana and David, joined us and the boys had lots of fun filling up their baskets with sweet ripe berries and checking out the moveable chicken coop placed at one end of the berry patch.
Strawberries are the only pick your fruit crop out here so we make a point to pick them every year when the season rolls around. This was a great start start to the summer. Check in tomorrow to see what we made with our strawberries with a new recipe included!
