Summer is finally heating up, which means it’s the perfect time to break out your favorite summer drink recipes. I’ve been experimenting with some new refreshing bright summer flavors in partnership with Prairie Organic Spirits and I’m so excited share my new favorite summer bevvy with you.
Now you all know my affinity for edible flowers, and particularly for Nantucket’s wild beach roses. I knew they would be the perfect pairing with Prairie Organic Spirits’ ultra smooth Organic Vodka. Floral aromatic roses highlight the hints of melon and pear in their signature and best selling farm-crafted vodka. Homemade rose simple syrup is very easy to prepare and you can use fresh or dried roses depending on the season and what is available near you. Of course I suggest you get out and do some forging for wild roses in your area (because it’s fun!), but you can use any unsprayed fresh roses from you garden or local farms or purchase dried edible rose petals from an organic or wildcrafted source (a simple search online yield numerous results and if you didn’t know already, I sell handpicked dried Nantucket wild rose petals in my shop). This simple cocktail is light and bright and ticks all the boxes for a refreshing summer cocktail with a surprising floral twist that will impress your guests!
But let’s talk about this award winning vodka for a second. From its inception, Prairie Organic Spirits has been a leading the pack in the organic spirits market. As one of the first USDA Certified Organic spirit brands they’ve pioneered an organic farm-to-glass movement and have remained the #1 selling brand in the organic category. Their passion for quality and craftsmanship is shown through their deep commitment to working closely with Minnesota family farmers, who sustainably grow every ear of corn that goes into each batch of their spirits. This unwavering passion and commitment has awarded Prairie Organic top honors from the prestigious San Francisco World Spirit Competition for the past three years in a row. {They’re kind of a big deal.}
Hop over to Prairie Organic’s site to learn more about their farm-crafted spirits, the family farmers growing exceptional ingredients for each batch, and the entire fascinating process of producing organic spirits from seed to bottle.
