The whole world seems to be baking bread at home right now. Store shelves are clearing out of flours and yeast as soon as they are stocked. One of the only ways I’ve felt prepared for having to self isolate during this pandemic is having a sourdough starter. If you’ve wanted to try making your own sourdough breads at home now is the perfect time to start.
Over the years I’ve received so many questions about sourdough baking and if/when I will host a sourdough workshop. So over the last month, I’ve been busily creating a sourdough bread e-course that will be live very shortly.
I’ve decided to share the first lesson as it own course: How to Make a Sourdough Starter from Scratch for FREE so you can get started on your sourdough journey right now. Simply enroll in this free course to gain access to a step-by-step video of the process, a printable recipe, FAQ and glossary.
This sourdough starter mini-course will give you a taste of how the sourdough bread course will be presented.
Each step of the process of baking artisan sourdough bread at home will be broken down into short videos that are easy to follow and show the the process in detail. I will walk you through the steps and teach you techniques that will produce delicious airy loaves with a beautifully blistered crust and open crumb structure.
What you’ll get from my Artisan Sourdough Bread e-course:
- How to create a sourdough starter from scratch mini-course – Enroll for free now!
- How to create artisan sourdough loaves from start to finish through a series of detailed videos
- Printable recipe and schedule options
- Recommended equipment and resources – all linked in the shop now
- Glossary and FAQ sections
- Personal guidance from me. I will be available to answer any questions you have and help troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
What will it cost?
I am offering this course at the low rate of $20. If this is above your budget right now because of financial hardship due to covid-19, please send me an email an we can work something out to make it accessible for you. I’ve decided to monetize content like this to bring in much needed income at this time.
As you may know, my partner and I are self-employed as private chefs on Nantucket. We are bracing ourselves for a bad season, as our island’s economy is run entirely on seasonal tourism. My hope is that this and subsequent courses will be able to provide valuable content for you and help offset our losses due to this crisis. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
BONUS: FREE Dried Starter When You Sign Up!
The first people to sign up for the Artisan Sourdough Bread E-Course when it is live will receive a packet of my very own sourdough starter at no additional charge, which I’ve dehydrated and made into a powder. You’ll receive instructions on how to hydrate and re-activate the starter and it will be ready to use in recipes right away.
This offer will be available until I run out of dehydrated starter, so make sure you are subscribed to the blog (see sidebar) to be the first to know when the sourdough bread course enrollment is live (which will be very soon!). I can only ship the starter within the USA at this time, apologies to everyone abroad.
Future Courses
Over the following weeks I will be rolling out more mini-courses for things like sourdough bagels, sourdough sweet dough for cinnamon rolls and doughnuts, sourdough focaccia and pizza dough, and more! If you have any specific requests for course content let me know!
Thank you again for all your support!
