Garden Journal <> Spring Comfrey Harvest

Recently we harvested the spring crop of our comfrey plants. Before they were done flowering we cut them back and now they will vigorously grow up again and we will have a second harvest come late summer. Comfrey is one of the important healing medicinal herbs used in our Vital Healing skincare products. Comfrey is high in allantoin, which encourages the rapid growth of skin cells to rejuvenate and restore dry/damaged skin. Its beautiful bell shaped purple blooms are some of my favorite flowers and are also loved by the honey bees and other vital pollinator species that visit our garden.
