Well, it’s been a long winter and I’m anxiously awaiting Spring’s arrival. I know it’s coming soon, it has to be, right….? *as the wind howls out my window*
In anticipation of warmer sunny days, I share with you these photos of my buckwheat sprouts. Soon to be harvested and enjoyed thoroughly in sandwiches and atop a salad. These are by far my favorite sprouts and they are so easy to grow and quick to harvest-about 4 days.
How to Grow Buckwheat Microgreens:
Step 1:
Soak the whole buckwheat seeds (organic preferred) overnight.
Step 2:
Drain and lay on top of a 2″ layer of moist potting soil. I reuse the plastic tomato or strawberry containers from the market.
Step 3:
Set next to the window and watch them grow. Keep sprouts moist by using a spray bottle of water.
Oh, by the way, I plan on posting at least once a week from now on. I will try my best to hold myself to that. As I said, it’s been a long winter.
