Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • fresh clean snow

Instructions

  • Cook maple syrup in a heavy bottomed saucepan at medium-high heat until it is bubbling and reaches soft ball stage or 235-240˚F.
  • Pack snow onto a tray or plate so the surface is firm.
  • Spoon cooked maple into 2-3 strips over the snow at a time. Twist taffy around popsicle sticks to serve. Work quickly while maple taffy is still pliable to twist. Repeat this process until all of maple is used up. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If maple becomes too thick/hard as it cools to spoon over snow, simply warm it back up on the stove to soften, and continue making taffy strips.
  • Best eaten right away.
