3 years ago when I was pregnant with Iley our sweet midwife, Sybille, gifted us among other plants a raspberry seedling from her garden. Since that time we’ve watched it grow wildly each year bearing more and more sweet delicate fruit. In these high summer months we’ve adopted a ritual of picking the ripened berries each morning. Iley always gets first dibs, usually gobbling up the morning pick in its entirety. I may steal a taste here and there.
These are the moments I cherish the most. Taking time to enjoy the sweet things in life with the ones I hold most dear. The stress of the summer season has started to creep up on me. Push, push push through these busy months. I need these moments to just breathe. And am so thankful for them.
