Each year in June we gather petals from the beautiful beach rose plants that cover the coast line of Nantucket. The rose petals are carefully dried and used in a variety of our handmade products.
These salts were selected for their high mineral content and restorative properties. Himalayan pink salt alone contains over 84 minerals and trace elements such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. Epsom salt has long been used in bath salt preparations for softening the skin and relaxing sore muscles.
French Pink Clay aids in cell renewal, skin rejuvenation, and improving elasticity. It is high in Iron Oxide and Silica and helps to regenerate connective tissues. This special clay has absorbent powers due to the constitution of its micro molecules. It literally “drinks” oils, toxic substances, and impurities from your skin, but is as drying as other clays, making it gentle enough for sensitive skin. Its toning action stimulates the skin by bringing fresh blood to damaged cells, revitalizing the complexion and tightening pores.
Wild Rose petals cleanse the skin and reduce inflammation, which helps to treat acne-prone skin and soothe rashes caused by rosacea and eczema. Rose contains high amounts of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, which helps protect skin cells from damage caused by sun exposure. Rose is especially beneficial for those with sensitive skin because the sugars in its petals create a soothing feeling. Rose gently tones and tightens pores to restore suppleness for a glowy complexion.
Organic Chamomile flowers soothe skin and reduce inflammation, easing dry itchy skin, and aid in preventing and healing bacterial infection.
Add a few tablespoonfuls to your warm-hot bath for a luxurious soothing soak. A little goes a long way. For a more intensive treatment add 4 tablespoons per gallon of hot water in a wash basin to soak an isolated area, such as your feet or arms.
