Wild Rosa Rugosa Roses abound on the island covering most of the coastal beaches. In the late spring and early summer we collect the petals to dry for our other tea blends. In the late summer though late fall we collect the sun ripened plump red fruits called rosehips. These little gems are very high in vitamin C, more so than oranges.
This blend combines the wild rosehips, which we hand harvest and dry, as well as organic rosehip pieces and organic lemon peel. It is a tea I drink all winter long to boost my immune system. This tea can be brought up to a boil with the water and them simmered for 5-10 minutes to bring our the most of its medicinal properties. It is lovely with a spoonful or two of local raw honey.
